In 2020 - during the height of COVID-19 shut downs and regulations, I was approached by many of my friends for help. They couldn’t pay bills, their jobs were gone, and I started to send them my favorite stock market trades. They did so well they forced me to get on YouTube and share my passion, which was the single best career decision of my life.
This led to a passion and love for content creation, and being able to tie my educational background into it, made the content super digestible and easy to follow. I had followers asking me “Evan, when are you going to make like a legit course or guide?” - so I took the next 500 days to make the single largest and longest video stock trading course on YouTube. 50 parts, 35 hours, and dozens of new software skills learned, I had accidently made a ‘flag ship project’.
One of my followers was a CISCO Instructional Designer, who now is at Amazon - basically forced me to make a portfolio and get out of education. I was honestly SHOCKED that ‘Instructional Design’ was even a role… like I get to just MAKE the content and NOT deliver it? that cannot be real…
Well, it turns out it is a real career and I currently work as the Instructional Design Manager for the Admissions Branch of a massive healthcare company. The content I make has helped over 281,000 patients get the care they need, and over 1,000 employees get better at their jobs as well.
